In Butterflies - Part 1 I showed you my first creations on the butterfly theme, from animation, to origami art with paper on canvas.
In 2021 I started to make the "Love..." series: artworks with the heart shape as common thread, the same heart that is unamarz Creations logo, you can see it on the top of this page :) .
This is "Love Butterflies".
I used 14 origami tetrahedrons for each wing, and each wing is a heart, and a ninja star for the butterfly's body.
The beautiful paper is from Venice, Italy, printed with ancient illustrations of flowers and butterflies.
A more dynamic version of the butterfly, a flying one, is the subject of two smaller artworks: "Red and Blue Butterfly", and "Green and Purple Butterfly".
I used the same type of paper for the whole butterfly, with one wing showing more of one colour and the other wing showing the other colour. For each module, each tetrahedron, 3 faces are visible, 2 green and 1 purple on one wing, 2 purple and 1 green on the other wing.

And this is the last artwork I made on canvas, using origami butterflies, and hearts folded in two. The hearts folded in this way look like chrysalises or leaves.
I am fascinated by flight, because is something I experienced in my lucid dreams.
It felt so real, like a feeling in my body,
like skating fast,
like riding a bicycle down a hill,
feeling the wind on my face.
Flying feels like freedom.
Freedom feels like flying.
